Cucumber

Cucumis sativus

The cucumber is a creeping vine that roots in the ground and grows up trellises or other supporting frames, wrapping around supports with thin, spiraling tendrils. The fruit is typically long, cylindrical, or torpedo-shaped with tapered ends. Skin ranges from light to dark green, sometimes with white or yellow, and can be smooth or prickly.
